Dong Jun and the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Co-host the China-Vietnam Border Defense Friendship Exchange Activities
Defense Minister Dong Jun co-chaired the 10th China-Vietnam Border Defense Friendly Exchange Activities with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang from the 18th to the 19th and held talks.
Dong Jun stated that the continuation of the border defense friendly exchange activities following the first ministerial meeting of the China-Vietnam "3+3" strategic dialogue mechanism is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus of the top leaders of both parties and countries, reflecting the high level and uniqueness of military exchanges between the two countries. The two militaries should inherit the profound friendship of "comrades and brothers," maintain close strategic communication, leverage the brand effect of border activities, and deepen practical cooperation in areas such as maritime security and personnel exchanges, contributing to the construction of a strategically significant China-Vietnam community of shared destiny.
Phan Van Giang said that under the personal guidance of the top leaders of both parties and countries, the Vietnam-China relationship has maintained strong development, and the border defense friendly exchange activities have become a model for defense relations between the two countries. The Vietnamese side always prioritizes consolidating and developing relations with China as a top priority and strategic choice in its foreign policy, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to enhance the quality and effectiveness of cooperation in various fields, promoting the deepening and solidification of military relations between the two countries.
During the event, Dong Jun also visited border defense troops, schools, and enterprises with Phan Van Giang, planted friendship trees, attended the launch ceremony for the joint patrol and training of the two countries' navies in the Gulf of Tonkin, and laid a wreath at the monument to the revolutionary martyrs of the Chinese and Vietnamese people.
