Elbit Systems unveils new brand for its autonomous combat drones

Elbit Systems has introduced FUSE, a new business line bringing together the Israeli defense contractor’s autonomous drone and ground vehicle systems under one portfolio, the company announced September 9 in Rosh HaAyin, Israel.

FUSE centers on software called Dominion-X, which lets a single operator control multiple autonomous aircraft and ground vehicles at once, a setup Elbit calls “One2Many.” The system is built to work in GPS-denied environments, using automatic target recognition to help unmanned systems identify and track targets without relying on satellite navigation that can be jammed. Elbit first unveiled Dominion-X in February 2025, and the software has since reached Technology Readiness Level 9, the U.S. government’s top maturity rating, meaning it has been proven in real operational use rather than only in testing.

The portfolio includes several previously announced products now grouped under FUSE. Among them are the Pirani-X loitering munition drones for ambush and strike missions, ground and air robots designed to fight alongside armored vehicles, and a family of backpack-portable reconnaissance drones called X-intra, THOR and Magni-X. Elbit also folded in systems built for urban combat against fortified positions and for automated border surveillance with minimal staffing.

“Military forces are entering a new operational era in which combat effectiveness will increasingly depend not only on autonomous platforms themselves, but on the ability to integrate and coordinate large numbers of autonomous systems within existing maneuver forces in real time,” said Eyal Dahan, CEO of FUSE. “FUSE was established to deliver that capability today, combining autonomous platforms, operational AI and scalable One2Many command capabilities into integrated operational solutions that can be rapidly deployed and integrated into modern combat formations.”

Elbit says the technologies behind FUSE have logged more than 1 million flight hours in the air and over 100,000 hours of ground operation, with thousands of drones and hundreds of unmanned ground vehicles already delivered to customers. The company says FUSE systems are currently in service with military customers in Israel, the United States and Europe, though it did not name specific units, countries, or contracts.

Elbit has built earlier versions of this concept before. The company’s Legion-X program, which combines autonomous drones with the ROOK unmanned ground vehicle, has been demonstrated for missions including reconnaissance, urban warfare and casualty evacuation. FUSE appears to extend that approach into a formal product line spanning both air and ground systems.
