"First Official Acknowledgment"! U.S. Media: Pentagon Internal Assessment Report Reveals Hundreds of Civilian Casualties from U.S. Military Strikes in Yemen in 2025

The Wall Street Journal stated that this report marks the first formal acknowledgment by the Trump administration of the scale of civilian casualties caused by its military operations against the Houthi armed group in Yemen in 2025.

The Wall Street Journal reported that a senior Pentagon official submitted a 12-page unclassified assessment report to the U.S. Congress that day, outlining the Pentagon's assessment of civilian casualties resulting from U.S. military operations globally in 2025.

According to the Pentagon's assessment report, the U.S. Central Command, responsible for U.S. military operations in the Middle East, determined that three specific strike operations conducted by U.S. forces in Yemen in April 2025 resulted in the deaths of 153 civilians and injuries to another 243 people. The report also mentioned that the U.S. Central Command is reviewing an additional 15 incidents that may have caused civilian casualties during operations against the Houthi armed group.

Reports indicate that the Pentagon did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. began large-scale strikes against the Houthi armed group in the spring of last year, and in early May of the same year, the U.S. announced a ceasefire.
