Houthi Forces Claim Attack on Saudi Oil Company Facilities and Areas Controlled by Yemeni Government Forces

Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, August 14 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: The Houthi armed group stated on the 14th that it used drones to attack an oil facility in southern Saudi Arabia and launched missiles at targets related to the Yemeni government forces controlling the port of Mocha, resulting in casualties.

According to reports from the Saba News Agency, which is controlled by the Houthis, the group successfully hit the Aramco facility in the Najran region of Saudi Arabia. Houthi military officials claimed that this attack was a response to Saudi warplanes "intruding into the airspace of Saada province in Yemen." Saada province borders Saudi Arabia and is a key area controlled by the Houthis.

The Saudi side has not yet responded to the claims made by the Houthis.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated on social media that the group used "a large number of ballistic missiles" to attack "Saudi military reinforcements, weapons, and military vessels" in the southwestern port of Mocha, resulting in dozens of "Saudi support personnel casualties."

The statement also mentioned that the group would continue to strike against "Saudi military gatherings in Yemen."

In response, the official media of the internationally recognized Yemeni government reported that five missiles hit the port of Mocha, causing casualties; the attack also struck residential areas, resulting in the deaths of four civilians.

Local residents told Xinhua reporters that there were continuous violent explosions in the city of Mocha, with flames and thick smoke rising from the port and surrounding areas.

The spokesperson for the Yemeni government forces on the western coast, Wada Dobbish, said that one of the attacks hit fishing boats near the port, causing civilian casualties and several fishing boats to catch fire.
