Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, April 29 - Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated during a phone call with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on the 29th that the current turmoil in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is a direct consequence of the aggressive actions taken by the United States and Israel against Iran.

According to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the ceasefire, bilateral relations, and regional and international situations during the call. Amir-Abdollahian stated that the U.S. continues to threaten the freedom of international navigation, and the international community should pay attention to the consequences that the actions of the U.S. and Israel bring to global security and economic development. He also updated Jaishankar on the latest progress in the ceasefire negotiations.

Jaishankar expressed that India supports resolving conflicts and disputes through diplomatic means.
