On the 28th local time, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement saying that during the airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on the 24th, two armed commanders of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) were killed.
According to the IDF report, in an airstrike on the Shati area in northern Gaza, the IDF killed a commander of Hamas's elite unit "Nukhba," Abdul-Rahman Maher Abdul-Karim Ziyada. The IDF accused him of infiltrating Israeli territory during the attack on October 7, 2023, and seizing an IDF vehicle to return to the Gaza Strip.
On the same day, in another airstrike targeting Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the IDF killed Kamal Muhammad Hamdan Najjar, the head of the Hamas tunnel unit in the Khan Younis combat zone.
The IDF stated that the aforementioned individuals had been planning and advancing attacks against IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip, posing a direct threat to the IDF, which eliminated them through precise airstrikes.
