Israel’s Uvision, Estonia’s Lendurai to integrate systems for NATO military

JERUSALEM — Israeli loitering munition maker Uvision has signed a partnership agreement with Estonian autonomy firm Lendurai, which will see the latters software installed on Uvision platforms for an unnamed NATO customer.

The deal, signed Sept. 24, appears to be Uvision’s first public announcement about inroads in the Baltic state, which is known for its software capabilities and is rushing to beef up its low-cost munitions options.

Ran Gozali, the CEO of Uvision, noted in the statement that “AI-enabled autonomy is becoming increasingly important in addressing the complexity of modern operational environments.” He said the partnership will enable the companies to integrate capabilities “in support of the evolving needs of NATO Forces.”

Founded in 2011, Uvision has pioneered a line of loitering munitions called Hero which come in various sizes and ranges and deploy wings after launch. The company describes them as “combat-proven smart integrated systems, providing military forces worldwide with precise and effective operational attack capabilities.”

Lendurai also makes a drone interceptor called Accipiter, but its software — particularly the Neocortex system, which the company says has been “battle-proven in Ukraine”  — is the key to this deal. However, it was not made clear if the deal specifically involves the Hero drone; Uvision has also expanded its line of systems in recent years after acquiring Israel’s SpearUAV, which makes smaller tactical systems.

“Combining our AI and autonomy expertise with Uvision’s proven unmanned systems creates an opportunity to deliver capabilities tailored to real operational requirements, while laying the groundwork for broader cooperation in the future,” Siim Maivel, CEO of Lendurai, added.

Uvision has been focusing more on the European market in the last year. It announced a new European subsidiary in Munich in March called Uvision Europe that is intended to anchor its European activities. Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia have all been modernizing their forces amid increasing threats from Russia.

Uvision has also been focused on the US market for loitering munitions. In October 2025 the company announced an almost $1 billion contract with its US partner Mistral to Hero-120 to the US army. In June Uvision unveiled a new battle management system called Cortex to link sensors and its Hero, Viper and Peregrine systems.
