Multiple Regions Conduct Flood Relief Drills to Enhance Emergency Response Capabilities

Recently, several regions in our country have experienced periodic flooding. To effectively prevent and address various emergencies during the flood season and to strengthen the flood safety defense line in the jurisdiction, multiple military units have simulated various flood-related emergencies and conducted multi-subject flood rescue drills to enhance the comprehensive emergency response capabilities of military and local water rescue operations.

In the capital city of Beijing, the Fourth Detachment of the Beijing Armed Police Corps simulated a real flood scenario, focusing on the core task of urban flood rescue. They conducted multiple subjects including emergency deployment, road repair and clearance due to water damage, and emergency response to hazards, testing the troops' rapid response and comprehensive emergency rescue capabilities.

In Luoyang, Henan, stationed officers and soldiers organized search and rescue teams against the backdrop of heavy rainfall during the flood season causing river water levels to rise dramatically and people being trapped. The commanders quickly assembled at the water gathering area, assessed the water conditions and flow risks on-site, scientifically divided the search and rescue areas, and employed segmented drone searches, focused inspections, and multi-point coordination to conduct comprehensive search and rescue operations.

Wu Liang, a certain brigade of the 83rd Group Army: Through this special search and rescue drill, we further solidified the professional skills of the officers and soldiers in water rescue, enabling them to master the search and rescue processes and handling methods for complex water hazards, effectively enhancing the team's emergency response, precise search and rescue, and safe transfer capabilities.

In Tangshan, Hebei, the officers and soldiers organized drills on inflatable boat operations, water rescue, and set up special emergency medical training. Military doctors explained the key techniques for performing CPR on drowning victims, demonstrating each step from assessing consciousness to chest compressions, ensuring that every officer and soldier mastered the first aid skills.

In places like Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and Qingyun, Shandong, armed police officers and soldiers coordinated with local militia, fire departments, and power supply units to simulate emergencies such as urban waterlogging, trapped individuals, and damaged power facilities. They conducted comprehensive inspections of rivers, sluices, low-lying areas, and power facilities, solidly carrying out practical training for flood prevention and disaster relief, fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
