Poland Confirms a Russian-Made Missile Fell on Its Territory
Xinhua News Agency, Warsaw, July 30 (Reporter Yang Yuchen) - Poland's Deputy Minister of Defense, Cezary Tomczyk, stated on the 30th that the object that intruded into Polish airspace and fell near Tanawa-Kolonia in the eastern Lublin province early that morning was a Russian-made Kh-101 missile.
Tomczyk said in an interview with Polish media that this type of missile is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and is a very dangerous cruise missile.
He added that it is currently unclear whether the missile was intentionally aimed at Poland.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that afternoon that the missile fell in an uninhabited area and did not cause any casualties.
As of the time of the reporter's publication, the Russian side had not yet responded to this.
The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command reported earlier on the 30th that at 3:40 AM that day, Polish military radar detected an unidentified object flying westward in Polish airspace, and the Polish military immediately dispatched a fighter jet for reconnaissance and interception. The unidentified object later disappeared from the radar, and a military helicopter found a suspected crash site in the uninhabited area near Tanawa-Kolonia.
