The announcement stated, "On August 1, watch military blockbusters and celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Army together." In the video accompanying the theme song of "Victory," many impactful highlight shots appeared, including the Sichuan ship launching a new type of multifunctional interference bomb and the 191 long-range box rocket launcher firing large-caliber rockets, both of which are being publicly showcased for the first time, demonstrating the PLA's hardcore combat capability for long-range precision strikes.

In 2025, on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, in collaboration with the Central Cyberspace Administration and others, produced the ideological interpretation multimedia film "Tackling Tough Challenges - Committed to Strengthening the Army Towards Excellence," which tells vivid stories from the perspective of frontline soldiers about the entire army's efforts to successfully tackle the tough battle to achieve the centenary goal of building the army and its commitment to strengthening the army towards excellence. In the promotional video for "Tackling Tough Challenges," dynamic footage of the People's Navy Fujian aircraft carrier, new submarines on long-range missions, and the Rocket Force's intercontinental ballistic missile launches were successively released.

Military expert Zhang Junsha stated on the 28th to a reporter from the Global Times, "The promotional video 'Victory' expected to be released this year will likely expose the latest training footage of various main battle equipment from the PLA Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force, visually demonstrating our military's long-range strike capabilities and its strong ability to defend national sovereignty, security, and development interests."

Zhang Junsha indicated that on the occasion of August 1, the PLA clearly conveys through the promotional video that our military's modernization has entered a stage of systematic, intelligent, and all-domain development.

Zhang Junsha also noted that in the footage accompanying the theme song of "Victory," there was a scene of the 076-type amphibious assault ship Sichuan launching a new type of multifunctional interference bomb. "This type of interference bomb, in conjunction with the short-range air defense missiles and close-in weapons systems on board, collectively builds a shipborne terminal defense system to intercept incoming missiles and various threat targets," Zhang Junsha stated.

According to reports, the Sichuan ship is a new generation of amphibious assault ship for the Navy and is a key piece of equipment for advancing the transformation and development of the Chinese Navy and enhancing its long-range operational capabilities. The Sichuan ship was launched in December 2024 and will conduct its first navigation test mission in relevant waters in November 2025. The ship has a full-load displacement of over 40,000 tons, features a dual-island superstructure and a full-length flight deck, and innovatively applies electromagnetic catapult and arrestor technology, capable of carrying fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and amphibious equipment. As of now, the Sichuan ship has successfully completed multiple test sailing missions.

Experts have introduced that the core mission of the amphibious assault ship is to execute three-dimensional landing operations. When approaching enemy coastal waters, it will simultaneously face multiple weapon strikes from the air, surface, and underwater, making the ship's own defense capabilities crucial while deploying landing forces. A comprehensive close-in defense combination significantly enhances the Sichuan ship's survivability in high-risk battlefield environments, supporting the ship in responding to high-end maritime combat scenarios. "The new type of multifunctional interference bomb featured in this promotional video can address diverse threats and can act against incoming enemy missiles, naval artillery shells, underwater torpedoes, and other targets, providing air, surface, and underwater defense. It can autonomously match munitions based on the type of incoming target and confuse and deflect incoming attacking weapons through various means such as underwater acoustic interference, infrared interference, torpedo decoys, and multi-band chaff interference, thereby comprehensively strengthening the ship's terminal protection and battlefield survivability," Zhang Junsha analyzed.

Additionally, the footage of the 191 long-range box rocket launcher firing large-caliber rockets was also publicly showcased for the first time. "Previously, footage of the 191 box rocket launcher firing rockets had been released, but this time it is the first public display of it launching larger caliber rockets. This type of large-caliber rocket can be considered a 'tactical missile,' with higher precision and greater destructive power," military expert Song Zhongping stated on the 28th to the Global Times. The public release of this footage not only serves as a direct demonstration of the equipment being deployed to the troops and put into practical use but also marks the increasing maturity of its combat capabilities. At the same time, the mature deployment of this type of equipment will continuously strengthen the Army's all-domain long-range strike capabilities, representing an important milestone in the development of our military's new quality combat forces.

According to Song Zhongping, the 191 long-range box rocket launcher features long range, high precision, fast response speed, a wide firepower system, and a combination of point and area strikes, especially with the box-type ammunition replenishment method significantly shortening the preparation time for combat. They integrate strategic strikes and tactical support, capable of suppressing and accurately striking the enemy from a distance, deeply expanding the new boundaries of land combat capabilities, showcasing the "sharp edge" of the PLA Army.
