Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, July 6 (Reporter Li Dongxu) According to news released by Ukrainian officials on the evening of the 6th, a large-scale airstrike launched by the Russian military on the capital city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast from the evening of the 5th to the early morning of the 6th resulted in at least 24 deaths and 106 injuries.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the airstrike caused 16 deaths and 58 injuries in Kyiv city. As of the evening of the 6th, search and rescue operations were still ongoing for the residential buildings attacked in the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts.

Kyiv Oblast Governor Kralashnyk posted on social media that the death toll in the oblast has risen to 8, with another 48 people injured. Twenty of the injured have been hospitalized, three of whom are in serious condition.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced in the morning that from the evening of the 5th to the early morning of the 6th, the Russian military launched 351 drones and 68 missiles into Ukrainian territory, with the main targets being Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast. Ukrainian air defense and electronic warfare units intercepted 326 drones and 37 missiles. This marks the second round of large-scale airstrikes by the Russian military on Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast in the past week.
