On the 25th local time, the commander of the Israel Defense Forces Northern Command, Rafi Milo, stated that the Israeli military is "in a state of war" on the Lebanese front and emphasized that the Israeli military will not tolerate attacks on Israeli territory.

Milo also mentioned that the Israeli army is conducting military operations deep into Lebanese territory targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and armed personnel.

Additionally, Israeli officials indicated that the military is considering expanding operations in Lebanon. IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated during a security cabinet meeting on the 24th that it is necessary to destroy buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

It is reported that Israel has been in ongoing consultations with the United States regarding this matter, but the U.S. has taken a reserved stance on it.

A senior U.S. official stated on the 25th that as drone attacks against Israel have surged, the U.S. may "greenlight" larger-scale military operations by Israel against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon began on April 17 for a duration of 10 days, and U.S. President Trump announced on April 23 the extension of the ceasefire for three weeks. On May 15, Lebanon stated that the third round of talks held in Washington among Lebanon, the U.S., and Israel achieved "diplomatic progress favorable to Lebanon," and all parties agreed to extend the ceasefire for another 45 days.

Since the ceasefire took effect, the Israeli military has continued to launch attacks on the grounds of violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah in Lebanon, and has dismantled and destroyed what it calls "Hezbollah military infrastructure" in the areas it occupies in southern Lebanon.
