The UK will provide Ukraine with a new type of electronic jamming system.

Reference News Network, July 30 report According to AFP on July 27, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced on the 27th during Ukrainian President Zelensky's visit to the UK that the UK would share the intellectual property of a British electronic jamming system with Ukraine. The purpose of this system is to crack Russia's air defense systems. Burnham had just taken office as Prime Minister a week prior, and Zelensky is the first foreign leader he has hosted.

This visit took place before Zelensky's trip to Washington on the 28th, where he will meet with Trump. The UK is one of Ukraine's most important supporters, having provided approximately £25 billion in funding since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, of which £16 billion is military aid.

According to reports, Burnham and Zelensky met at the Portsmouth Naval Base in the UK.

Burnham told Zelensky, “You are the first foreign leader I have hosted since taking office, and this is no coincidence.”

Burnham also declared, “We are 100% supportive of Ukraine... We will fully honor all our commitments to Ukraine.”

Burnham announced that the UK would share the intellectual property of the new British electronic jamming system "Stone Cloak" with Ukraine. It is said that this system can make it more difficult for Russian air defense systems to detect and lock onto drones.

This move by the UK will enable Ukraine to "mass-produce" the jamming system. Currently, Ukraine is striving to maintain its technological advantage in the drone war against Russia.

Burnham stated that, on a practical operational level, this will allow drones "to hit targets and save the lives of Ukrainians."

Zelensky responded, “I thank the UK for today's decision to provide electronic warfare technology to protect Ukrainian drones.”

Reports indicate that this jamming system will also be used in the UK's future new generation of weaponry, including next-generation low-cost cruise missiles.

This move reflects the willingness of both countries to strengthen military cooperation.

Kyiv is leveraging its accumulated experience in counter-drone operations in recent years as a bargaining chip to seek international assistance.

According to a report by Voice of America on July 27, Downing Street stated that the "Stone Cloak" jamming system is about the size of a tablet computer and, when installed on a drone, can prevent Russian air defense systems from tracking and targeting flying drones. Thousands of jamming systems developed under the UK-Ukraine partnership agreement have already been shipped to Ukraine.

Reports indicate that London stated that the "Stone Cloak" system, after being used and mass-produced in Ukraine, will be incorporated into the UK's next-generation deep strike capabilities.
