Ukrainian Side Claims Three Merchant Ships Attacked by Russian Drones, One Person Dead
Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, June 22 - According to reports from the Ukrainian International News Agency, three commercial ships heading to the port of Odesa, Ukraine, were attacked by Russian drones in the Black Sea region from the evening of the 21st to the early morning of the 22nd, resulting in the death of one crew member.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority stated on social media that the attack caused a fire on a cargo ship flying the flag of Panama, resulting in the death of an Egyptian crew member. The Ukrainian Navy reported that the remaining eight crew members have been rescued and evacuated.
The Ukrainian side stated that two other civilian vessels, flying the flags of Palau and Belize respectively, were damaged in the attack, but there were no casualties. Both vessels have since continued their voyage.
