U.S. Ambassador to Israel Says Israel Deploys "Iron Dome" in the UAE
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said on the 12th at a meeting held at Tel Aviv University that Israel has deployed the Iron Dome air defense system and related personnel in the UAE.
U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield also confirmed on the same day that Israel has deployed the Iron Dome air defense system in the UAE and has helped the UAE intercept Iranian missiles during recent conflicts.
On the 12th, Israeli sources reported that, despite previous rumors, neither Israel, the UAE, nor the U.S. had publicly confirmed this. The statement from U.S. officials on the 12th is the first public confirmation that the Iron Dome has been deployed and is operational in the UAE. This also marks the first time the Iron Dome has been deployed to a country outside of Israel and the U.S.
