USS Washington Returns to Yokosuka Base in Japan
On the 17th local time, reporters from the General Station learned that the city of Yokosuka, Japan, announced that the USS George Washington, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, returned to the Yokosuka base of the U.S. Navy in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on the 17th. The purpose of the return is for resupply and crew rest.
Previously, the USS George Washington departed from the base on May 10, possibly for a trial run after maintenance.

The USS George Washington currently belongs to the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet and is the first U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier homeported in Japan.
