Yesterday (the 8th), the port phase of the China-Russia "Maritime Joint-2026" joint exercise concluded successfully. The vessels from both sides will set sail from a military port in Qingdao this morning (the 9th) to conduct the maritime joint exercise in the designated sea area.
Before departure, the joint directing staff and the joint command organized multiple rounds of command simulations and tactical coordination. The commanders from both sides agreed on key operational points, exercise rules, and refined the maritime coordination processes and emergency response plans. At the Naval Submarine Academy, personnel and relevant experts from both China and Russia focused on professional exchanges regarding the development of submarine rescue technology, equipment construction, and maritime training. At the military port dock, both sides opened their vessels to each other and discussed aspects such as the maintenance of propulsion systems, ocean navigation experience, and daily training management.
