Yemen's Houthi Forces Claim Saudi Arabia Launched 156 Attacks in 24 Hours
Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 7 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: The military spokesperson for the Houthi armed forces, Yahya Saree, stated on social media on the 7th that Saudi Arabia has launched 156 airstrikes and missile attacks on six provinces in Yemen in the past 24 hours.
The statement said that the Saudi attacks targeted the capital Sana'a as well as the provinces of Taiz, Saada, Al-Jawf, Marib, and Amran. Airstrikes were carried out by F-15 and "Typhoon" fighter jets that took off from Saudi Arabia's Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, while missiles were launched from the southwestern regions of Najran and Jazan.
The statement noted that the latest attacks have brought the total number of airstrikes and missile attacks carried out by Saudi Arabia since the escalation of the situation to 1,798.
Saree also mentioned in the statement that the Houthi armed forces used ballistic missiles and drones to attack the gathering points of the Yemeni government forces in Al-Jawf and Al-Hajjah provinces in the past 24 hours, resulting in casualties among the government forces, including commanders, and destroying several military vehicles.
The Yemeni government forces have not yet responded to this.
Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi called on Turkey and Pakistan not to get involved in the Yemeni conflict alongside Saudi Arabia. In a televised speech, he stated that negotiations with Saudi Arabia have reached a deadlock, and "neither negotiations nor other efforts have been effective."
The Houthi armed forces have recently launched an offensive against the Yemeni government forces and frequently attacked Saudi Arabia, which supports the Yemeni government. On the 5th of this month, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan held an emergency meeting of the "Mecca Defense Alliance" Strategic Political and Defense Committee to discuss the changes and threats to the security situation faced by Saudi Arabia, agreeing to immediately deploy military forces in Saudi Arabia.
