Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, July 21 (Reporter Li Dongxu) - Ukrainian President Zelensky announced on social media on the evening of the 21st that he has decided to appoint Mikhail Drepat as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, replacing Alexander Syrsky.
Zelensky stated that on the same day he discussed adjustments to the personnel of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Drepat, Ukrainian Acting Defense Minister Yevgeny Yermak, and Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Pavel Palisa, and all decisions will be officially finalized on the 22nd.
Drepat has served as the Commander of the Ukrainian Army and the Commander of the Joint Forces in recent years.
