The U.S. "Ford" aircraft carrier has left the Middle East.

According to a report by Reference News on May 3, an American official stated on May 1 that the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier has departed the Middle East after completing related operations against Iran.

The official noted that the Ford is currently in the area of responsibility of the U.S. European Command. The U.S. Navy still has 20 vessels deployed in the Middle East, including the USS Abraham Lincoln and the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carriers.

The Ford has been on deployment for over ten months, during which it participated in several U.S. military operations in the Caribbean, including targeting vessels suspected of drug smuggling, intercepting sanctioned oil tankers, and forcibly controlling Venezuelan leader Maduro.

The U.S. military reported that on March 12, a fire broke out in a laundry room on the carrier, injuring two sailors and severely damaging about a hundred berths.

Additionally, reports indicate that during its deployment, the carrier experienced frequent malfunctions in its restroom systems, with U.S. media revealing that toilets on board were frequently clogged, requiring personnel to wait in line to use the facilities. (Translated by Xu Yanhong)
