According to a report by Reference News Network on May 3, Reuters reported on May 1 that the U.S. State Department announced on the 1st that it has approved the sale of military equipment worth over $8.6 billion to four Middle Eastern allies: Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
The announcement released by the U.S. State Department on the 1st indicated approval for the sale of $4.01 billion worth of "Patriot" air defense and missile defense support services to Qatar, as well as $992.4 million worth of advanced precision kill weapon systems.
The announcement also included the approval for the sale of a $2.5 billion integrated combat command system to Kuwait; the sale of $992.4 million worth of advanced precision kill weapon systems to Israel. Additionally, the State Department approved the sale of $147.6 million worth of advanced precision kill weapon systems to the United Arab Emirates.
The U.S. State Department stated that the main contractor for the sale of advanced precision kill weapon systems to Qatar, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates is the British company BAE Systems.
