After the US and Iran announced the memorandum of understanding, the mediator Pakistan stated that both sides agreed to immediately and permanently cease military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, according to reports from Iran on the 16th, the Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbiya, issued a statement saying that within two days of the US announcing a "ceasefire," the Israeli military violated the ceasefire agreement 84 times in southern Lebanon and continued to attack the Lebanese people. The Central Command of Khatam al-Anbiya warned that if the Israeli military does not stop its actions in southern Lebanon, it will face a severe counterattack from the Iranian armed forces.
