On August 17 local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky reported that the Russian military launched multiple rounds of airstrikes against various locations in Ukraine from the night of the 16th to the early morning of the 17th, using ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in casualties and damage to facilities in multiple areas.

Zelensky stated that during the airstrikes, a total of 6 people were injured in Kyiv city and Kyiv region; Kryvyi Rih and Kremenchuk were hit by ballistic missile strikes, with 2 people killed and 14 injured in Kryvyi Rih; additionally, 1 person was killed in the Sumy region. In the morning of the same day, air raid sirens continued to sound in several regions of Ukraine as the Russian side launched another drone airstrike.
