mediumX-47B proved carrier launch/recovery and autonomous aerial refueling for a UCAV demonstrator.
The X-47B was Northrop Grumman's carrier-based unmanned combat air system demonstrator for the U.S. Navy UCAS-D program. It made aviation history by demonstrating catapult launch and arrested recovery from an aircraft carrier, then completed autonomous aerial refueling in 2015. The program showed that a tailless unmanned aircraft could integrate with carrier procedures.
